Live Alone In A Paradise

July 13, 2008

At some point in the past week I forgot how to speak.

Mind Unraveling

July 13, 2008

What is worse at my age, putting this stuff out there, or keeping it to myself?

Publishing it in this small way stimulates my work ethic, but shouldn’t the process be a reward in itself?

Does expression form too rigidly with an audience in mind? Does it place unnecessary standards where they do not belong? Would a private process encourage freedom?

Is the feedback I get unbalanced? Are “personal” blogs the kindergarten of the internet, the one place in this swamp where, “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all” prevails in criticism?

Does the feedback matter? Should it?

Is the fact that I know most of these answers after writing this out, however contradictory they may be, an answer in itself?

Can big questions be broken down into small pieces, answered, and reassembled? Or do they not fit back together like that? Maybe they fit back together, contradictions and all, and that’s just the nature of questions.

The Alchemist’s Lesson

July 9, 2008

At this time of year the touch of death is seasonably warm. Long fingers of summer light stretch out the days, and as temperatures rise, resolve for ski related projects falls.

A month of labour welcomed more reading than writing, and unsurprisingly I’ve been slacking on Six. The slope has been slippery but I’m feeling well rested, and as I look towards the near future, the value of my idea is solidly reaffirmed.

As always, realities shift, circumstances evolve, and the final goal appears different with every new thought. Fortunately I trust my intuition, which believes the changes are for the best.

Once again the days are slowly becoming shorter, the project feels good, and my holographic train is back on track.

It is a new development, understanding that you must not only discipline yourself, but also the golems you create.
